Setup Instructions for Veriteq viewLinc 3.0 with Digi Devices


This page is designed to walk you through the process of setting up your viewLinc 3.0 system. Please complete the steps in the order they are shown.

  1. Download the appropriate Quickstart Guide
    If you are using standard (SP series) loggers, please download the Quick Start Guide for viewLinc with Digi Devices
    poster size (11x17in) | letter size (8.5x11in)

    If you are using validatable (VL series) loggers please download the Quick Start Guide for viewLinc VL with Digi Devices
    poster size (11x17in) | letter size (8.5x11in)

    These Quick Start documents contain instructions for a Digi One SP. If you have a Digi One SP, the Quick Start Guide is likely all you need to install the Digi software and viewLinc.

    If you have a Digi other than the Digi One SP, you'll find specific instructions below for other Digi models.

    The steps in the Quick Start guides must be repeated for each Digi device you plan to install. We recommend installing all Digi Devices before installing viewLinc.

    If you meet any of the following conditions, you need additional instructions. You should read these instructions before you follow the Quick Start Guide. All additional instructions refer to the steps in the Quick Start, so have it handy.

    I Lost my Digi Configuration CD

    I'm Using a Digi PortServer TS 1, 2, 4, 8, or 16

    I'm Using a Digi Wi-SP in a Secure Wireless Network

    I Must Use DHCP (can't assign static IP for Digi device)

    I'm Installing a Digi in a Differnet Subnet

    My Digi didn't come from Veriteq or I performed a factory reset

    If you've read the appropriate instructions above and/or none of these additional conditions apply to you, you can follow along here:

  2. Connect the Digi Device to the Network
    Perform Step 1 in the Quickstart Guide
  3. Configure the Digi Device + Install the Digi Driver

    Perform Step 2 parts A - C in the Quick Start Guide

    If, for some reason, the "Install Digi RealPort on this computer" checkbox is not selected as recommended in the Quick Start Guide (Step 2 part C), you need to complete the extra step of installing the Digi RealPort Driver:

    To install Digi Real Port Driver (think of this as part D):

    • From the Digi Device Servers screen, click SOFTWARE.
    • Install Real Port Driver.
    • From the Digi Real Port Setup Wizard Welcome screen, click NEXT.
    • Select your device. Click NEXT.
    • From the Digi Real Port Setup Wizard, choose a COM port for the computer to use to talk to the Digi. Use COM 10 or higher to avoid conflicts. Make a note of this COM port.
    • Click NEXT. Click FINISH
  4. Install Veriteq Software
    Perform Step 3 and on in the Quickstart Guide
