Type R Thermocouple Performance Data

The following charts document the performance of Veriteq 1700 Thermocouple data loggers when used with Type S (Platinum-Rhodium) thermocouples.

Type R Temperature Measuring Range

1700-series Logger Version Type R Measuring Range

(°C.)

(°F.)

Wide Range "W" models -50 to 1760 -58 to 3200

Narrow Range "N" models -50 to 790 -58 to 1450

Type R Temperature Measurement Accuracy

The following graph details the instrument accuracy of the Veriteq 1700 Thermocouple data logger over the rated Type R measurement ranges for both Wide Range ("W") models (top graph line) and Narrow range ("N") models.

Type R Temperature Accuracy Graph

Instrument accuracy is based on a 25° C. cold junction temperature. Probe errors and probe temperature range limitations are excluded.

About Type R Thermocouples

Type R thermocouples are made up of a positive wire of 87% platinum and 13% Rhodium, and a negative wire of 100% platinum. Type R is a Japanese standard and, consequently, these probes are often used for calibration purposes. The probes have a high resistance to oxidation and corrosion, however, they can also be easily contaminated.
