Type S Thermocouple Performance Data

The following charts document the performance of Veriteq 1700 Thermocouple data loggers when used with Type S (Platinum-Rhodium) thermocouples.

Type S Temperature Measuring Range

1700 Datalogger Version Type S Measuring Range

(°C.)

(°F.)

Wide Range "W" models -50 to 1700 -58 to 3090

Narrow Range "N" models -50 to 850 -58 to 1560

Type S Temperature Measurement Accuracy

The following graph details the instrument accuracy of the Veriteq 1700 Thermocouple data logger over the rated Type S measurement ranges for both Wide Range ("W") models (top graph line) and Narrow range ("N") models.

Type S Temperature Accuracy Graph

Instrument accuracy is based on a 25° C. cold junction temperature. Probe errors and probe temperature range limitations are excluded.

About Type S Thermocouples

Type S thermocouples are made up of a positive wire of 90% platinum and 10% Rhodium, and a negative wire of 100% platinum. Type S is an international transfer standard and, consequently, probes of this type are commonly used for calibration work. The probes have a high resistance to oxidation and corrosion, however they can also be easily contaminated.
